Does success really make you happy? Or is it the other way around? These are questions Rob Mack, an Ivy League educated celebrity who has a Master's degree and a positive psychology expert, the author of Happiness from the Inside Out, a TV show host and so much more, is uniquely qualified to answer.
Rob Mack is someone who has been featured on huge shows like Access Hollywood. Good Morning America, The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, the CBS Early Show, and so many magazines like SELF, Health, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, GQ and Forbes magazine.
A unique light in the world, Rob has an applied positive psychology degree from the University of Pennsylvania, which only a few dozen people in the entire world have. But what is positive psychology? “It's a face valid, time tested, empirical study of happiness, really the Science of Happiness and the science of success,” Rob explains.
This 20 year old science is about what makes life worth living, and when asked what he learned in his years of study, he summarized as follows, “The greatest takeaway is that success doesn't lead to happiness. But happiness does lead to success. happiness is not only the greatest success, meaning the reason that we want to accomplish, achieve or acquire anything and everything in the world, but it also leads to success.”
Happiness is a nice feeling, but it also serves a purpose, Rob shares, “The happier people in the world, they live longer, about six to seven years longer. They make more money, about $600,000 to $700,000 more, on average, over the course of their entire lifetime. They get married earlier, stay married longer, are happier in all their relationships, whether they're married or not. They experience less job burnout. In all ways, happiness improves the objective circumstances and conditions of your life.”
Happiness isn’t just an inside job, it’s one of the most rewarding, scientifically speaking and a goal worth pursuing based on the wisdom Rob Mack has shared.
